In wireless communication systems, there are typically four components: the antenna, radio frequency (RF) front-end, RF transceiver, and baseband signal processor.
With the advent of the 5G era, the demand and value for both antennas and RF front-ends have risen rapidly. The RF front-end is the fundamental component that converts digital signals into wireless RF signals, and is also the core component of wireless communication systems.
Functionally, the RF front-end can be divided into the transmit side (Tx) and receive side (Rx).

Compared to average power tracking techniques, envelope tracking allows the power amplifier’s power supply voltage to follow the envelope of the input signal, improving RF power amplifier energy efficiency.
An RF Receiver converts received RF signals via the antenna through components like filters, LNAs, and analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) to downconvert and demodulate the signal, finally forming a baseband signal as output.
