4×4 Butler Matrix from 0.5-6GHz

The CBM00500M06000A04 from Concept is an 4 x 4 Butler Matrix that operates from 0.5 to 6 GHz. It supports multichannel MIMO testing for 4+4 antenna ports over a large frequency range covering the conventional Bluetooth and Wi-Fi bands at 2.4 and 5 GHz as well as an extension up to 6 GHz. It simulates real-world conditions, directing coverage over distances and across obstacles. This enables true testing of smartphones, sensors, routers and other access points.

Overview

The CBM00500M06000A04 Butler Matrix is a beamforming network that controls the directions of a beam, or beams, of a radio transmission. The beam direction is controlled by switching power to the desired beam port. In transmit mode it delivers the full power of the transmitter to the beam, and in receive mode it collects the signal from each of the beam directions with the full gain of the antenna array.

Application

The Concept Butler Matrix supports multichannel MIMO testing for up to 8+8 antenna ports, over a large frequency range. It covers all present Bluetooth and WIFI bands from 0.5 to 6GHz. The Concept Butler Matrix can also be used for antenna array beamforming and interface testing for multiple systems in the frequency range, and for multichannel multipath emulation.
